Our efforts to promote STEM learning have not stopped, even amid COVID-19 challenges. As part of the “HKUST – ExxonMobil iSTEAM Program 2020”, we have supported engineering and science students from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to produce a series of STEM@Home Experiment videos to promote active learning at home and engage students in exploring the fun of STEM learning during these challenging times.
There are four episodes featuring various simple experiments that can be conducted at home, including Neutralization of Acid and Alkaline, Transmission of Collision Force, Similar Compatible Theory, and pH Value of Substances. Please feel free to share with your kids and friends.
Citrus fruit volcanoes (Neutralization of acid and alkaline)
Striking Ping Pongs (Transmission of collision force)
Floating drawing (Similar compatible principle)
Invisible ink (pH value of substances)
