Nurturing future workforce with hands-on learning

At ExxonMobil, we believe early exposure to different careers and industries is crucial in helping young people make informed decisions about their future. We work closely and actively with various partners to support educational initiatives that nurture the workforce of tomorrow.

On July 7, ExxonMobil Hong Kong (EMHK) hosted a job experience day in collaboration with the Education Bureau (EDB) as part of their Business-School Partnership Programme (BSPP). We welcomed nine form 4 and form 5 students to our office in Central Plaza, giving them a unique opportunity to understand the roles and responsibilities of various departments, including Fuels Sales, Marine Fuels, Environmental and Property Solutions, and Public & Government Affairs. Under the guidance of EMHK mentors, the students were given tasks to complete, both as individuals and as teams, allowing them to gain hands-on working experience in the real world.

These hands-on experiences helped students identify their strengths and skills and demonstrated areas of interest and character. Mentors' advice on career selection and continuous learning helped them identify industries and positions they might be interested in pursuing.

Launched by EDB, the BSPP aims to help secondary students understand commercial operations and explore their career orientation through various activities.
