Inspiring students for STEAM learning

ExxonMobil Hong Kong (EMHK) believes that STEAM education is crucial in arousing students’ curiosity in engineering and nurturing future STEAM professionals. Since 2016, EMHK has supported the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in organizing the annual iSTEAM Program, and a total of 700 students have participated in the program.

This year’s workshop “SmartBot Carnival”, which was wholly set up by the HKUST students who had received prior training on project design as part of their course, ended in success on November 19. With the guidance of the HKUST students, more than 70 participating students from 11 local primary and secondary schools worked in small groups to drive smartbots through programming and engaged in fun competitions to test their control over the smartbots.

The program benefits students who are interested in engineering as well as those aiming to become a STEAM educator. EMHK will continue to support STEAM education and help more young talents pursue their dreams in the related field.
