Adopting new ways of engaging students in business ethics study
ExxonMobil Hong Kong-supported JAHK “Business Ethics” program for university students celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. While our commitment to uphold and promote business ethics remains steadfast, the program has continued to evolve to meet new needs and challenges over the years. In light of the ongoing pandemic, this year’s program which consists of three workshops open to seven local universities have moved online.
Although physical in-person interaction was not feasible this year, the program was well received with about 50 students participating in each of the workshops. Our Midstream Global Competency & Training Manager, Barry Li and North AP Consumer Marketing Mobil Delvac Brand Manager, Ian Wong volunteered to host the classes on September 30 and October 7 respectively. They used various interactive tools in Zoom like annotation & polling as well as interesting real-life case studies to keep the students engaged. Their firsthand practical insights on ethical business decision making and useful tips to deal with different ethical dilemmas helped equip the students with knowledge and skills to overcome ethical challenges they may face at the workplace in future.
