Raising occupational safety awareness

In a Safety & Health Workshop, co-organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong and the Occupational Safety and Health Council in June 2018, ExxonMobil Hong Kong volunteer speakers shared with secondary students safety and health ideas, as well as their personal experience in the industry. More than 250 students attended the workshops.

Our speakers covered basic health and safety concepts and provided useful tips for work and life. The general knowledge shared was applicable to a wide range of future occupations, raising awareness of health and safety issues and educating the students about how to avoid the risk of injury and illness.

The speakers also talked about their experience and practice in the energy sector, specifically at ExxonMobil Hong Kong. The unique challenges and solutions identified in the talks were eye-opening to the students. The speakers highlighted ExxonMobil’s safety culture and its commitment to creating a safe, healthy environment for everyone.

The workshops are a part of the Other Learning Experience program under the New Senior Secondary Curriculum, designed to prepare the future workforce for various work environments. ExxonMobil Hong Kong has supported this meaningful program since 2014 by sending experts to speak at the workshops.
