Inspiring secondary students for future career planning

At ExxonMobil, we believe in inspiring and engaging future generations, helping them get ready to shape the future for themselves, as the world of work is rapidly changing both in the job market and the workplace.
In support of Junior Achievement Hong Kong’s (JAHK) JA Career 4.0 Seminar, ExxonMobil Hong Kong (EMHK) volunteer speakers Stanley Lee, Hong Kong Marine and Blending Operations Manager, and Janice Man, Asia Pacific Strategy Manager and Developing Markets Communications Manager of Public & Government Affairs, shared with secondary school students from True Light Girls’ College and Munsang College (Hong Kong Island) on February 10 and March 2 respectively their experiences working at ExxonMobil and how the diversity and international exposure offered by the multinational company has benefited their professional development. They also discussed some of the changes in the workplace in the past and present, and the value, attitudes and skills needed for future career success.
Also speaking at the talks were a few junior colleagues, including Coby Wong of Hong Kong Marine & Blending Operations, Wynne Leung of Hong Kong Public & Government Affairs and Eugene Lau of Hong Kong Commercial Vehicles Sales. They spoke about their career developments and shared their views on study and career planning.
Organized by JAHK, JA Career 4.0 Seminar is one of the activities under the JA Plan For Future, a three-year project supported by The Funding Scheme for Youth Life Planning Activities of Youth Development Commission, which offers secondary school students with multiple touch-points on their life planning, ranging from career seminars, workshops and workplace immersion activities.
