Inspiration and experience sharing with the future workforce

ExxonMobil cares about the future, which is why ExxonMobil Hong Kong supports a variety of programs on youth education. In a joint effort with Junior Achievement Hong Kong, we presented these activities in early 2018:

Job Shadow Day

ExxonMobil Hong Kong organized a Job Shadow Day at Tsing Yi terminal on Jan. 24, 2018. Engineering undergraduate students from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology shadowed ExxonMobil Hong Kong mentors at work to gain hands-on knowledge and experience in the workplace.

By sharing their experience, passion and knowledge, as well as showing the students what it was like to work in the industry and at ExxonMobil, the mentors helped the students gain a better understanding of the work environment and explore a variety of career choices in the energy industry.

The activity is mutually beneficial, allowing the students to learn for their personal growth and the company to nurture promising talent. The event concluded with a tour of the liquefied petroleum gas compound at the Butterfly Estate in Tuen Mun.

Safety and Health Workshop

The first 2018 Safety and Health Workshop was held on Jan. 22, 2018, co-organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong and the Occupational Safety and Health Council with the support of ExxonMobil. Around 130 Form 3 and 4 students from St. Stephen’s Church College attended the workshop.

The workshop was part of an Other Learning Experience program under the New Senior Secondary Curriculum, which is designed to prepare the future workforce, educating them on important safety and health procedures.

ExxonMobil Hong Kong has supported this meaningful program since 2014, as safety is a vital part of its values and culture.
